1. Walking

Walking is such a simple but effective exercise. Keep good posture when you’re walking. Stand tall and don’t hunch your shoulders. Try to keep your arms relaxed and swing them forwards and backwards. Be careful to avoid walking outdoors when it is very hot and always carry a bottle of water with you.

Nowadays, a lot of hospitals and health clubs offer pre-natal exercise classes. Because of the limitations put on a pregnant body such as loss of balance and reduced stamina, the routines involved are designed to allow women to exercise safely.

Don’t forget to exercise in a room that is well-ventilated and wear comfortable and breathable clothes and ALWAYS have your bottle of water on hand.

2. Skin Care

It cannot be emphasised enough how important it is to look after your skin while you’re pregnant. If you have a routine, stick to it and if you’re unsure of which products you should be using, visit your local beauty salon or even your local pharmacy and they will be able to advise you on what you can use to keep your skin well hydrated and glowing.

3. Sleep

Getting a good night’s sleep is crucial. Unfortunately, towards the late part of your pregnancy this can be very hard to achieve. But don’t worry, there are many ways to help you get a good sleep. Make sure you have lots of cushions and pillows to hand, so that when you find a comfortable position, they will help support your back. Having a nice warm drink like hot chocolate, perhaps, can also help.

4. Pampering

When you’re pregnant, you’ve got so many things to think and worry about, that you need time to relax and unwind. The best way to do this is to treat yourself to something that will do just that, like a spa treatment : a facial, a foot massage or maybe just a lovely long soak in the bathtub.
