NLP Sales Training to Improve Your Sales Skills

Tuesday, 26. January 2010

With NLP Sales Training, professional sales will increase their performance by at least 20% and probably much more. This NLP technique is applicable in face to face or telephone sales situations and can be applied to product or service sales. And this article sets out why every sales professional have to learn the NLP sales training!

The other reason is having worked in highly sale driven environments as a training consultant I know something of their needs. On the right practitioner courses a lot of those needs are answered.

There are unique sales challenges for specific products and services but sales issues can be simplified to key areas that include:

- Every sales professional knows the value of staying motivated, energetic and positive when dealing with prospects, but perhaps after a string of rejections this is not the easiest thing to do.

- Building rapport. Most sales trainings will start with the idea that the customer buys the sales person before they buy the product or service. You probably instinctively know the truth of this as most people have had the experience of not buying something you actually wanted because you were put off by the sales person.

- Every purchasing decision we make is based on our values even for the smallest, most inconsequential things. This is just based on values, experiences and beliefs we hold and if I wasn’t writing about it now would probably been completely unaware of this for the rest of my life.

- There are physiological reasons why prospects will raise objections that are independent of their need for the product. A professional sales must to understand what is creating the objection and then handle it.

- Closing the sale. Some sales people will put off closing because of their fear of rejection and the problem here is that unless the prospect is highly motivated towards the product they may not buy, simply because no one has asked them to.

There are obviously many other areas and personal development needs for any individual working in sales, but if I take this as a general list of common areas, a NLP Sales Training course addresses all of this and a lot more.

The one thing you need to do to quit smoking

Saturday, 23. January 2010

Author: Anna Aparicio

Singer Jamelia struck a cord last week when, at a TV program, she talked about quitting smoking. She said that to her it was really simple, and that “if you don’t want to do something, don’t do it”.

In order to smoke people have to think  about it, think of  a shop where they sell tobacco, go there, buy it, find a place where they can smoke it, open it, take it, hold it light it, suck it, taste it, inhale it, swallow it, find a place to put it off, put it off…

It takes a lot of effort, time and money to smoke.

To quit, all you have to you is… NOTHING.

Getting in shape, for example, requires a lot of effort and preparation.

To quit smoking, all you have to do is absolutely nothing. None of the above.

How do you do this?

Well, decisions define who you are. You make decisions every moment of your life, so, you define yourself every single moment.

The trick is in asking yourself the right questions.

Are you interested in having the quality of your life be better?

Some of my clients compare cigarettes to a good friend. But, would a good friend kill you? Would a good friend torture you for years so you die a slow painful death?

Some tell me they smoke because they are bored, stressed out, because they want to fit in, because they think it will keep them slim…

Others give me the excuse of a night out. But, does that mean every one else who doesn’t smoke stay home on a Saturday night?

And, if your best friend beat someone on a Saturday night out and said “well, I was drunk so… I couldn’t help it”, would you accept it as an excuse?

You might be thinking, well, Anna , you can’t compare, it is not the same thing, yada yada…

It is only when you have quit making excuses for yourself, and You’ve made the decision to quit smoking that you’ll start to think differently about it.

In fact, it is so easy to quit, it takes my clients just one session.

See, we all have choices. You can choose to spend your future in a hospital bed, spend your money in treatments, procedures, medecins, pain relief, an early tombstone…

Or, you can choose to quit now, and live the future you really want to live.

Healing Subconscious Holograms in The Energy Body

Sunday, 17. January 2010

Author: Victtor Da Ponte

Sounds interesting, complicated, spooky, ridiculous, and maybe just plain out there right? Well, yeah but not after you work on a couple of them. I personally have been working for the last 15 years of personal development technique which have included extensive work on the inner child, archetypes, past traumatic events with varies different techniques. And I come from experience when I say that the manner of which we are now approaching these inner picture is fascinating, more powerful then ever, and also luckily quite simple. These inner pictures what I really like to referred to as Subconscious Holograms, or what others have called these inner pictures of ourselves, which by the way are stuck in a certain “defensive mode” – Energy Conscious Holograms. Mr. Karl Dawson, a Master EFT Practitioner gave it that name when a client saw a picture of herself in her mind, that session led to the continued exploration of working with these inner picture and left us with some new and exciting understandings in our possession.

He says in his web page that he believes the inner pictures we see of ourselves of a past traumatic experience are left in the Matrix field and that they are conscious and intelligent. I believe he is right, but I also believe that he is just describing the subconscious mind’s recording of the event. My personal feeling is that the key “insight” is that we can ask these inner picture questions and get unique and intelligent answers. Questions for example like, “Are there others like you that I should know about that need help too?” (which amazingly new and very important images are pull up that do need healing, ones that you would never have thought of consciously) or “What would you like to do right now?” or “What do you want?” When you are working with one – you absolutely get the feeling that these inner images are independent beings inside of you because of the kind of answers you get from them. You will get answers that do not to come from you at all but directly from these “subconscious holograms”.

It is in these moments when we can clearly see and experience the intelligence of the subconscious mind. In addition, can get as far as knowing it can have it’s own agenda – of course all of it is to ensure we remain happy. It is quite fascinating. Then again, it is just our subconscious mind that is stuck in a traumatic experience. We read do only use five percent of our intelligence, and here is a good example of what we can begin to tap a little further into the mind.

If you want a powerful technique to use when you do bring up these picture I recommend using the Heart Matrix Integration to loosing up these “past but present defensive modes” and allow a healthy flow in your life again.

What Are Words Worth?

Thursday, 14. January 2010

Author: Matt

Tumbling stocks and shares, crashing house prices, previously unassailable institutions crumbling into dust and unprecedented turmoil. These are just a few of the media superlatives filling acres of newsprint at time of writing. What a grim picture is being painted for 2009.

As we enter the dark cold months of the New Year filled with anxiety and trepidation is there any hope to cling to? Not if the doom-mongering British press has its way.

Newspaper journalists with a knack for exaggeration can forge successful careers out of their ability to turn a drama into a crisis with nary a thought for the impact on the national psyche. And there is a national predisposition for pessimism which means collectively we rarely, if ever, ‘look on the bright side‘ except in times of dire threat to our lifestyles and wellbeing. The ‘wartime spirit‘ is only seen or talked about in relation to times of extreme danger or deprivation. Goodness knows what happens to it in periods of peace and prosperity.

So is the media merely responding to our gloomy outlook or are they actually creating it? It’s possible we might change our perspective if the story was told in a different way. Try this for size: ‘Decisive politicians save nation’s vital banking institutions’. Or how about: ‘First rung of housing ladder finally in reach of young buyers’. Here’s another one to ponder: ‘Entrepreneurial new businesses thrive as jobless create their own jobs’.

A fundamental principle of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is that how we talk affects how we think and feel which, in turn, changes outcomes. There is plenty of evidence to support this view socially, politically and economically as well as in terms of individual interaction. ‘Golden ages’ and ‘political greats’ are rarely recognised at the time and are often only acknowledged in sentimental retrospectives. Our ability to appreciate the good times is undermined by measuring good fortune against greater fortune only to find ourselves lacking. And the derision which politicians are treated with must be a significant discouragement to the most gifted, leaving governance of the nation to those with thick skin but less talent.

On a personal level, more and more people are leading lonely, solitary lives, locked in depressing isolation by their own limiting beliefs, verbalised internally with viciously destructive self-talk. The celebrity culture puts tremendous pressure on the vulnerable and insecure to meet impossibly unrealistic criteria in every aspect. Meanwhile, others race round a relentless hamster wheel of competitive acquisition, seeking validation in a new kitchen or pair of designer shoes.

Much of this hectic shopping for meaningful lives is down to the fabulous skill of advertisers. They not only create brands and define aspirations but generate belief in what is worthy through the simple power of words and imagery. This is an insidious, contemporary mass-hypnosis as powerful and skilled as any religious creed in dictating desires, beliefs and acceptable behaviour. It is confirmation that NLP works on many levels, creeping unrecognised through mainstream culture.

Understandably, the power to manipulate the chatter which defines our opinions and choices is regarded with suspicion and sometimes fear. It presents the potential to exploit the vulnerable and impressionable. But it can also empower both individuals and society with motivation, vision, creativity and drive.

So let’s for a moment, as we venture into 2009, use the cynical process of spin but direct it away from commercial gain towards a fresh new concept of progress. For example, a good start would be for children to be nurtured and educated by parents and teachers aware of and responding to the cognitive differences between individuals. This is about using language to inform, support and guide according to a fairly basic sensory range of differing needs which can have a significant impact on learning ability.

Amateur parenting and one-size-fits-all teaching are symptoms of a fragmented social infrastructure where creativity is stifled and knowledge is no longer automatically passed between generations or community networks.

Then, take the economy and consider the potential benefits of a recession in clearing out all that is no longer functioning effectively. There were some gross imbalances which now stand some chance of redress. What we earn, how we spend it and who we give power to will all shift in the cataclysmic clear-out. Just like the Fire of London in 1666 cauterised the suppurating remains of the Great Plague in the disease ridden city streets, the financial calamity will pave the way for innovation and development.

On an individual level, that presents many opportunities to discover and tap into new skills. Institutions will have to be more open and responsive to gain respect and keep in business. And a better informed and more demanding public will no longer bankroll incompetence. The ‘unwaged‘ may well find their benefits entitlement curtailed and public servants are very likely in for a savage cull as superfluous town hall jobs disappear from The Guardian recruitment pages. So, theoretically, it’s wake-up time for the unproductive in our society. They’ll benefit from gaining some NLP skills to convert inertia and entitlement into dynamism and motivation.

Another quiet revolution in the offing concerns the atrocious neglect of the infirm amongst the ageing population. It’s true, some of the ‘grey market‘ are having a ball and are perhaps the only generation in history to have seen a continuous improvement in their lifestyle. But others are not. So watch out, the Baby Boomers are coming and they are the best educated, most dominant and influential generation ever to approach retirement age. They will not tolerate an undignified demise in a wee-stinking armchair in the corner of the TV lounge at the ‘Bide a While‘ rest home. This lot invented NLP and all its derivations and they will wield their powers to awesome effect.

The ‘yoof of today‘ had better make the most of their temporary fecklessness and they are destined to be one of the hardest working generations in history. The responsibility is theirs to support a massive population of dependents. In short, resourcefulness is a necessity not an option so the language of NLP is going to be a key factor in shaping their destiny for an awesome life where failure is not an option. They need all our encouragement and positive support to talk them into being fighting fit for the challenges ahead.

2009 looks set to be a pivotal year of enlightenment and rejuvenation on global, national and individual levels. It’s a year when so much of our wellbeing and stability depends on the brightest and best having the right resources to achieve transformation. In the meantime, all the rest of us had better figure out how to be the best we can possibly be to ensure we are ready and able to approach the challenges ahead positively and successfully.

If you want to achieve your goals this year you need to STOP DOING THIS

Saturday, 9. January 2010

Author: Anna Aparicio

If you are making resolutions and you are thinking about all the things you want to stop doing, like…

I have to stop drinking so much, I must give up chocolate, I should stop smoking, I shouldn’t spend that much money, I need to lose weight

Then stop, because it is not going to work for you.

You may have heard the saying “whatever you focus on you get more of”.

This means that if you focus on what you don’t want, you’ll get more of what you don’t want.

So, if for example,  you want to lose weight, and you are thinking things like:

I hate the way I look, I feel so heavy, I look horrible, I have huge thighs, my tummy looks disgusting…

Then you are probably also thinking:

That’s it, I can’t have bread any more, I am not allowed to eat chocolate, I shouldn’t eat pasta, I have to stop eating take aways, no more cake for me…

Then you have to realise that all you are doing is making it even harder for yourself, because you are focusing on all the stuff you don’t want.

If you are spending all your time thinking about all the things you don’t want, can’t have and shouldn’t do, then when are you thinking about what you do want?

Before you can make any changes in your life, you must change your mindset. You must change the way you think.

Otherwise, no matter how much you wish for something, how much you hope it happens, you will not get it.

Your mind doesn not recognize all the don’ts, shouldn’ts, can’ts… you are thinking.

It only recognizes positive commands.

So, when you say things like “I can’t have chocolate”, your mind processes “have chocolate”.

When you say “Don’t eat those fries”, your mind recognizes “eat those fries”.

And then you try and fight that command with will power alone? Pretty much impossible.

Unless you stop focusing on what you don’t want, you are wasting your time and setting yourself up for disappointment.

You must stop cluttering your mind thinking and talking about what you don’t want.

Stress Vibes and Joy Vibes

GET RID OF THOSE STRESS VIBES and RELISH THOSE JOY VIBES

by

VIKRAM KARVE

In my opinion the term “Stress Management” is an oxymoron.

First you create stress within yourself, and then try to “manage” it.

Funny, isn’t it?

Why not prevent stress in the first place?

Focus on “stress prevention” rather than “stress management”.

Let us try one way how to do this.

Long back, sometime in the 1960’s, when I was a small boy, my father took me to visit Belur Math, near Kolkata, and there I acquired a tiny pocket book called “Thus Spake Vivekananda” which I cherish even till today.

Whenever the chips were down, or I felt dejected, I referred to the inspiring gems of wisdom, distilled from the complete works of Swami Vivekananda, for instant motivation and strength.

Here’s one of those gems of wisdom [a phrase from the sayings of Swami Vivekananda]:

Anything that makes you weak physically, intellectually, and spiritually, reject as poison

I feel that the word “weak” is all encompassing and embraces anything that creates in you a stressful situation like all negative emotions and feelings including anger, irritation, infuriation, frustration, despondency, depression, demoralization, unhappiness – anything that disturbs your inner tranquillity and equanimity, drains you emotionally and intellectually, besides literal physical weakness.

Oh yes, Stress is weakness, Stress is Poison!

Now sit down in a quiet tranquil place, close your eyes, introspect, and try to think of all the things that make you feel negative – all your stress-creators and stressful situations – anything tangible or intangible that creates stress-vibes in you.

These stress vibes can be anything – toxic or incompatible persons, who irritate, annoy and hassle you, foods and beverages which don’t suit you and are physically detrimental, activities, which may appear pleasurable, but actually drain you out, technology and gadgets, like your cell-phone, which disturb your peace of mind, and strained relationships, which are a big source of silent stress-vibes.

Make an exhaustive list of all your stress vibes, the things that make you “weak” and try to reject them as “poison”.

At first you may be a bit sceptical about this approach, but when you start implementing, you’ll be surprised how much it is in your own control to prevent stress.

While you reject the things that make you weak, you must also reinforce the things that make you feel “strong” and positive.

So simultaneously, reflect and contemplate, and make a list of things which give you strength and joy, make you happy and productive – all the things and people that create positive feelings in you – and try to devote as much time and energy to these positive things (joy vibes) that give you strength and make you feel good.

That’s Force Field Analysis – avoid or reduce the “restraining forces” which cause stress vibes in you, and reinforce and strengthen the “driving forces” which generate positive emotions in you, and try to convert some restraining forces into driving forces by using techniques like NLP, Postive Thinking etc.

This technique of stress prevention works for me, and I’m sure it’ll work for you too.

You can take my word for it that this stress management philosophy is very effective, probably because it is so breathtaking in its simplicity.

I wish you a happy stress-free life.

Hypnotism – A Cure For What Ails You?

Thursday, 24. December 2009

Author: Serena Pulman

A hypnotherapist is a practitioner of hypnosis who guides their patients into a meditative state called hypnosis. This state of hypnosis and the practice of hypnotism have been studied and researched for man years.

A state of mind that can more easily be manipulated by outside forces for the affect of curing a disorder is often the goal in hypnosis. The hypnotherapist will help the patient they are treating achieve this meditative state of mind so that the new measures suggest by the hypnotherapist can be accepted more readily than they would under the patients normal state of mind.

Although only abut 25% of the population can be hypnotized easily, even less people, roughly 20%, cannot be hypnotized at all, according to a recent survey. Much more of the population lies in the middle with some ability to be hypnotized, and some ability to have disorders at least partially cured through hypnosis, although most people would agree it is certainly not an exact science.

In order to explain the process more fully, lets take a look at an example.

Smoking is perhaps one of the most difficult habit to give up. It is often a habit that has been held by the smoker for many years and the smoker has often tried many times to quite and has failed. During hypnotism, the smoker will first be placed into hypnosis, or a deep meditative state. Whilst in this meditative state, the negative aspects and emotions will first be thought about then the positive aspects and emotions of giving up will be though about. After w while these emotions and aspects, both negative then positive will also be verbalized by the subject. Over the course of the hypnotism sessions these emotions will be subtly changed by the hypnotherapist helping the smoker to quit smoking.

Actively focusing on the negative and positive perceptions and the changes that have been learned during hypnotism is required for the patient to be successfully cured after the hypnotism sessions end.

Many people have found this sort of treatment to be very affective, and even encourage others to use it after successfully quitting smoking.

Like anything in life, its always challenging to try something new, and our fears of the unknown often hold us back, but really what have you got to lose ?

From a Mentor to a Mentee – YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO FLOWER WHERE GOD HAS SOWN YOU

FLOWER BLOSSOM BLOOM and FLOURISH

From a Mentor to a Mentee

By

VIKRAM KARVE

Long back I learnt a trick from an eminent trainer on how to get the audience to focus. I too use this technique on a few occasions when I want my audience to settle down to receptive vibes.

The moment you take the stage, you tell the audience to close their eyes for one minute and think of the one person who they consider as their most important mentor.

A few days ago, one of my brilliant ex-students, who attended a motivational lecture in her new organization and was subjected to the same exercise, rang me up and told me that it was my face that came to her mind as a mentor. Then she talked about her work, that she was not very happy with her new workplace which apparently did not measure up to her high expectations. I feel privileged that my ex-student considers me a mentor and I write this “pep talk” especially for her and all my dear mentees, protégées and protégés .

Ou Dieu vous a seme, il faut savoir fleurir

YOU MUST KNOW HOW TO FLOWER WHERE GOD HAS SOWN YOU

Every person, sooner or later, goes through a moment when it seems that he or she is on the wrong road, that their entire way of life is wrong.

Have you ever experienced this feeling?

Think about it.

Do you find yourself stuck in an incongruous career or in an incompatible relationship or in a redundant place?

And sadly there is nothing you can do about it, owing to compulsions and constraints beyond your control.

You cannot turn around and retrace your steps or change your road of life.

It seems you have crossed the point of no return and you have no choice but to keep on travelling on the “wrong” road of life.

Failure follows failure.

And with repeated failure comes the fear of failure.

It is indeed a terrible vicious cycle which gradually overwhelms you with the chill of despondency.

What can you do in such a situation?

Maybe the answer lies in a saying I read somewhere a few years ago and noted in my diary:

“ Ou Dieu vous a seme, il faut savoir fleurir ”

which roughly translated means

“You must know how to flower where God has sown you” or “wherever God plants you, there you must learn how to bloom”.

How does one learn to flower where God has sown you, bloom wherever God plants you?

One may turn to the Enchiridion of Epictetus for guidance.

Epictetus (A.S.55 – A.D. 135), the great Stoic Philosopher, states that happiness and freedom begin with a clear understanding of one principle: Some things are within our control, and some things are not in our control.

This is the basic Stoic truth of subjective consciousness and it is only after you have faced up to this fundamental rule and learned to distinguish between what is in your power from what is not in your power, and know what you can control and what you cannot control, that inner tranquility and outer effectiveness become possible.

On analytical reflection we find that the mind alone can be brought under our control. Everything else, the world of events and people’s behaviour, is beyond the scope of our control.

What disturbs you are not events but your attitude towards them. Don’t demand or except that events happened as you would wish them to. Accept events as they actually happen. And you will be at peace with yourself.

Except for extreme physical abuse, other people cannot hurt you unless you allow them to. Don’t consent to be hurt and you won’t be hurt.

You must learn to approach life as a banquet and not as a buffet. Think of your life as if it were a banquet where you would behave graciously, when dishes are pass to you, extend your hand and help yourself to a moderate portion. If a dish should pass you by, enjoy what is already on your plate. Or is a dish hasn’t being passed to you yet, patiently to your turn. Carry on the same attitude of polite restrain and gratitude to your children, spouse, career and money. There is no need to yearn, envy and grab. You will get your rightful share when it is your time.

It then becomes our paramount duty to control the mind and practice total unconcern to externals. “When something happens, the only thing in your power is your attitude toward it; you can either accept it or resent it.”

To accept an event is to rise above it, to resent it to be overpowered by it. With acceptance come happens, with resentment, misery.

Acceptance of an event is not to be mistaken for a life of passivity or submission to fatalism characterized by laziness and a sense of helplessness. “Simply doing nothing does not avoid risk, but heightens it.” Epictetus exhorts us, therefore, to brave the storms of life with planned action born of clear thinking. He recognizes, too, the practical necessity of working for worldly gains, but cautions us only against the false belief that happiness depends on the results such endeavours.

Being an integral part of social structure, you cannot live in isolation; social interaction is inescapable. In your relationship with others at home, at work or in society, no matter how people behave, you have to maintain inner tranquility, with unwavering attention on achieving your own merit and excellence. People act under their own inner compulsions over which you can exercise no control. Epictetus advises: “Focus not on what he or she does, but on keeping to your higher purpose.” He assures that if you truly live in tune with your will and resolve, and in harmony with your inner self, nobody’s words or actions (barring extreme cases) can disturb your mental equipoise.

This glorious attitude to life and knowledge of your self makes you free in a world of dependencies and enables you to flower where God has sown you, to bloom wherever God plants you.

Ou Dieu vous a seme, il faut savoir fleurir

Wherever God plants you, there you must learn how to bloom.

You must know how to flower where God has sown you.

Have resolutions for 2010? Why you won’t stick to them unless you do this

Thursday, 24. December 2009

By definition, a resolution is a commitment that an individual makes to a project or the reforming of a habit.

Resolutions are often linked to a lifestyle change that is interpreted as beneficial. These commitments tend to go into effect on new year’s day and remain until fulfilled, or abandoned.

Some of the most popular ones include:

Losing weight, getting fit, eating right, quitting smoking, reducing stress, getting organised, getting out of debt…

However, recent studies show that only 12% of people who set new year’s resolutions actually go on to achieve their goals.

- How come, year after year, millions of people all over the world swear over and over again they will stick to their resolutions,  only to give them up, as most people do, a few weeks later?

- How can people abandon such important and beneficial goals they have set for themselves, so easily and quickly?

The answer is simple. The haven’t mastered the art of setting well formed outcomes.

Most people don’t know how to set goals. They like to daydream about what their lives would be like if things were different, they like to think about and talk to other people about ideas, things they would like to do, things they should do…

These are not goals. They are just thoughts. In order for you to achieve your goals, you need to take consistent and focused action. And unless you follow the steps I am going to reveal now, you may find it extremely hard.

If you are serious about sticking to your resolutions this year, make sure you follow these goal setting strategies:

1/ A well formed outcome needs to reflect your values. Your values are your beliefs about what is most important to you in life. These provide inspiration, govern your levels of motivation, and guide every decision you make. They are the standards you live by.

If, for example, health and fitness is one of your values, then this will be imprinted in everything you do. You will behave in a way as to ensure you are healthy and fit, as you will not accept your life any other way.

When you set goals that reflect these, you’ll  want to start taking action right now, never mind waiting until the new year!

2/ If your goals are long term, it is useful to break them down into smaller more attainable mini objectives, so you can realise your progress more easily, and get a sense of accomplishment that will in turn keep you motivated and focused.

If you have a few goals in different areas in life, avoid overload and overwhelm by prioritising and concentrating on those goals that are most important to you right now.

3/ Tell people about your resolutions. Studies show that people who have a supporting family and friends reach their objectives faster , and also live happier and longer lives! This is why support groups of all sorts have proven to be so popular and successful.

If your family and friends are not as supporting as you’d like them to be, finding like-minded people who share the same or similar goals will help you get what you want faster and more easily. And you’ll get to enjoy the process more too.

4/ We are creatures of habit and often get stuck in  particular behaviours that can seem impossible to break, unless you know how to.

In order to build new effortless and lasting habits, you need to crush limiting beliefs, create new more resourceful ones, and attach these to your goals, together with  a bucket load of emotion  and some super effective goal setting tools.

Thinking that you will be able to do this relying solely on will power is a big mistake that will only bring you frustration and disappointment.

Even the most successful entrepreneurs, artist and athletes have coaches, like me, to help them with the necessary mind skills to help them achieve their goals.

If you want to find out what these mind skills are, and the 7 essential steps you need to follow in order to achieve your goals this year, stay tuned for my upcoming coaching programme “7 steps to getting what you want”, out in January!
